Privacy Policy
Your dates are personal. We treat them that way.
This policy explains what information Remember My Date handles, why it is needed and the choices available to you.
Effective date: 16 July 2026
Remember My Date is operated by HiGoTec Pty Ltd, ABN 16 144 867 176. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles to the extent they apply, and use those principles as our privacy standard.
Remember My Date is operated by HiGoTec Pty Ltd, ABN 16 144 867 176. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles to the extent they apply, and use those principles as our privacy standard.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to remembermydate.com, Remember My Date accounts, reminder emails, support interactions and the related reminder service.
External websites linked from our website or emails have their own privacy policies. This policy does not control how those external operators handle information.
2. Information we may collect
Account and contact information
- your name, email address and account identifiers;
- password credentials in protected form and account security information;
- email verification, consent and unsubscribe records; and
- messages you send to support or privacy contacts.
Dates and reminder information
- names or labels attached to birthdays, anniversaries and custom occasions;
- dates, relationships, notes and categories you choose to add;
- reminder timing, frequency and delivery preferences; and
- changes, deletions and account activity associated with those entries.
AI-assisted information
When you use conversational or voice-assisted entry, we may process the words, audio, transcript, instructions and related technical data needed to understand the request and prepare entries for your review.
Technical and usage information
- IP address, browser, device, operating system and approximate location derived from technical data;
- pages visited, dates and times of access, referring pages and feature interactions;
- security events, errors, logs and diagnostic information; and
- email delivery, opening, link and unsubscribe events where enabled and permitted.
3. How we collect information
We collect information directly from you when you create an account, add or speak a date, choose reminder settings, contact us or interact with an email.
We may also receive technical or service information from providers that host the website, deliver email, protect accounts, provide analytics, process AI requests or support service operations.
4. Why we use information
We may use personal information to:
- create, verify, secure and administer your account;
- store and display the dates and settings you choose to add;
- prepare and send requested email reminders;
- provide AI-assisted entry and let you review the result;
- respond to support, access, correction and privacy requests;
- detect misuse, investigate security events and protect users;
- understand and improve service performance and usability;
- send permitted service information and promotional content;
- meet legal, regulatory, accounting and dispute obligations; and
- establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
5. Information about other people
The service lets users store dates associated with other people. If you provide another person’s name, date, email address or other personal information, you must have a lawful reason and any consent required to do so.
Only add the minimum information needed for your reminder. Do not add sensitive information or private notes that are unnecessary for the service.
6. Reminder emails, marketing and consent
We send reminder emails according to the dates and settings enabled in an account. Some reminders may contain clearly identified gift ideas, recommendations, advertising or other promotional content.
Where Australian spam law or another applicable law treats an email as commercial, we will obtain and keep evidence of the required consent, identify the sender, include current contact details and provide a functional unsubscribe method.
You may withdraw consent or unsubscribe using the method provided. Valid Australian unsubscribe requests will be actioned within five working days. You will not be charged to unsubscribe or required to log in to stop commercial messages. Because email is the core delivery channel, stopping reminder emails may prevent the reminder service from functioning for your account.
7. When we disclose information
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose only what is reasonably necessary to:
- hosting, database, cloud storage and backup providers;
- email delivery and communication providers;
- identity, authentication, fraud prevention and security providers;
- AI and transcription providers used to process an assisted entry;
- analytics, error monitoring and support providers;
- professional advisers, insurers, auditors and contractors bound by appropriate obligations;
- regulators, courts, law enforcement or another person where required or authorised by law; or
- a successor in connection with a genuine restructuring, sale or transfer, subject to appropriate privacy protections.
8. Overseas processing
Some technology providers may store or process information outside Australia. Countries can vary depending on the provider and service configuration.
Where personal information is disclosed or processed overseas, we take reasonable steps required by applicable law to select suitable providers, use contractual or technical safeguards and protect the information. Further information about current overseas locations may be requested using the privacy contact below.
9. Cookies and analytics
The website may use essential cookies or similar technologies for login, security, preferences and service operation. We may also use limited analytics to understand aggregate traffic and improve the website.
Where consent is legally required for a non-essential cookie or tracking technology, it will not be used until the required choice has been provided.
10. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Measures may include encrypted connections, access controls, secure password handling, logging, backups, monitoring and service-provider review.
No online system can be guaranteed completely secure. Keep your password confidential and contact us if you suspect unauthorised account activity.
11. Retention and deletion
We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the account, delivering reminders, maintaining security, resolving disputes and meeting legal obligations.
Retention periods vary by information type. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete it or make it anonymous, unless the law permits or requires longer retention. Backup copies may remain for a limited period before being overwritten.
12. Access and correction
You can review and change many stored dates and settings through your account. You may also ask to access or correct personal information we hold by emailing privacy@remembermydate.com.
We may need to verify your identity before acting. If an applicable exception means we cannot provide access or make a requested correction, we will explain the reason where the law permits.
13. Children and young people
Remember My Date is not directed to children who cannot lawfully consent to the handling of their information. A person under 18 should use the service only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian.
If you believe a child’s information has been provided without appropriate authority, contact us so the matter can be reviewed.
14. Data breaches
We maintain processes for assessing and responding to suspected data breaches. Where the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme or another applicable law requires notification, we will notify affected individuals and the relevant regulator as required.
15. Privacy complaints
Send a privacy question or complaint to privacy@remembermydate.com. Please explain the issue and include enough information for us to investigate.
We will acknowledge and investigate the matter and aim to provide a substantive response within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may be entitled to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or another regulator available to you.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the service, technology, providers or law. The latest version will appear on this page with its effective date. We will take reasonable steps to notify users before a material change that significantly affects how their information is handled.
